In an effort to create more tennis opportunities to play matches at the club we are introducing tennis ladders where players can challenge each other and try to move up the ladder. This is a great tool for captains to utilize when making lineups for team matches and for juniors to compete with each other so that they get the match practice they need in order to bump up to the next class level or to prepare well for the next tournament. The scoring format is one Pro Set to 8 games win by two with a regular tiebreaker at 8-8. For example. You can win 8-6, or 9-7, but at 8-8 a tiebreaker first to 7 win by two will have to be played. This will help matches finish within the 1hr 15min court time with a short warmup. You may play a longer scoring format if time permits. If you don't finish your match then the player who is ahead wins. The winner reports the score and indicates the winner. The winner takes the place of the opponent and the opponent moves one spot down. The challenger books the court and court fees are split between players. If you are not a club member and the match is played at the club then the guest fee of $12 and the split court fee will be charged to the members account and the non member will need to pay the member back. The non member will also only be allowed to play two to three times at the club following the non member established rules. Matches can be played anywhere. We recommend serving with your own tennis balls, but this isn't mandatory. Remember the focus of having the tennis ladders is to encourage juniors and adults to play matches and have a great time!
